In response, since 2007, the FNEC has been working\u2014alongside its 22 member communities\u2014to develop a funding formula for their schools. global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Our Members<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The First Nations Education Council (FNEC) is an organisation made up of eight First Nations of Quebec: Abenakis, Anishinabeg, Atikamekw, Wendat, Ilnuatsh, Wolastoqiyik, Mi\u2019gmaq, and Kanien&#8217;keh\u00e1:ka.<\/p>\n<p>Spread over a large territory, the 22-member communities of the FNEC have a total of 25 elementary and secondary schools, in addition to Kiuna Institution. This represents approximately 5 900 students who have their own language, culture, demographic and socioeconomic profile, and traditions.
